Copenhagen weekend: airport transport & hotel costs

Plan a Copenhagen weekend: choose airport metro or train around your hotel, compare central and outer locations, and budget the whole trip.

Which option fits your trip?

Choose your hotel around the places you want to visit and its airport connection. Compare the train for a stay near Copenhagen Central, and the metro for Kongens Nytorv or Nørreport. Then add the walk to the room, flight arrival time and total local transport cost. The quickest ride to a station is not necessarily the quickest arrival at your hotel.

What makes a short break better value?

More usable time

A slightly different flight gives you an extra afternoon or avoids an impractically early departure.

Before booking: Compare door-to-door arrival, luggage storage and hotel access. Count the extra hotel night if a flight change requires one.

A well-connected hotel

The airport connection and the places on your itinerary are easy to reach from your base.

Before booking: Map actual station exits and walking routes. Compare total transport spending against any saving on the room.

Pay individually or buy a pass

You have a shortlist of attractions and know roughly how many journeys you will make.

Before booking: Sum only the visits you would make anyway. Check included transport, validity hours and reservation requirements before paying.

Plan the connection before booking the room

Visit Copenhagen describes metro connections from the airport to Kongens Nytorv and Nørreport, and train connections to Copenhagen Central. Choose the connection around your hotel address rather than assuming every central station is equally convenient. Check current fares, service notices and your exact route before departure.

Make the comparison fit your trip

For a short break, compare how much usable time each flight gives you. A lower fare may be less attractive if you arrive late and leave early. Match your arrival with check-in and ask about luggage storage.

Choose a base around the places you want to walk to, then check the airport connection. Keep a few indoor alternatives in your plan and leave space for neighbourhood walks rather than filling every hour with reservations.

Before buying a sightseeing or transport pass, add up the admissions and journeys you will actually use. Check current opening hours and booking requirements directly with each attraction.

Questions before booking

Should you take the metro or train from Copenhagen Airport?

For a hotel near Copenhagen Central Station (København H), compare a direct train first. For Kongens Nytorv or Nørreport, check the metro. Both are available at Terminal 3; follow current signs and check the exact departure in the journey planner. Include station exits, luggage and the final walk when comparing routes. Check your early or late return to the airport separately.

Is a cheaper hotel outside central Copenhagen better value?

Subtract any extra transport from the room saving and count the time spent travelling. Example only, not current prices: saving DKK 200 per room per night for two nights saves DKK 400. If the extra transport for everyone costs DKK 180, DKK 220 remains. Include late-night transport and compare cancellation terms on the same basis. COMPARE THE WHOLE TRIP

Which trip really costs less?

Enter totals for your entire travel group and the whole stay, in the same currency. Include mandatory charges once. Leave a field blank only if that cost does not apply. These are your estimates, not live quotes; nothing is saved or sent.

Option A
Option B

Do not count a refundable car deposit as spending. Check it separately as money you may need available. This tool does not compare cancellation terms, travel time or quality.

Ready to check availability?

Search with your actual dates, then confirm the full price and cancellation terms at the provider. Bokinger does not sell bookings or verify live availability on this guide.
