Car rental: plan your journey on the road
Room for a detour. Choose your pickup airport, then confirm dates, driver details and the rental conditions with the provider.
Understand the deposit and excess
The rental price is only part of the decision. Check the security deposit, insurance excess and exclusions. Extra cover may reimburse you later rather than remove the deposit required at pickup.
Plan pickup and return
Check whether the desk is in the terminal or reached by shuttle. Confirm opening hours, late pickup charges, fuel policy and mileage limits. Include parking costs when deciding whether you need a car for the whole trip.
Check driver and card requirements
Read the requirements for age, licence history and a payment card in the main driver’s name. Ask the rental company about cross-border travel or ferries if needed. Photograph existing damage and keep the return receipt.
